BONAVADA Aesthetics is an independent and fully inclusive aesthetics clinic led by founder and aesthetic practitioner Rick Howard-Pay, better known as Injector Rick.
Formerly named Mr Beautox Aesthetics, the clinic has grown beyond its original name and now offers a much broader range of aesthetic, regenerative, laser and specialist treatments from clinics in Worthing and Angmering.
The name BONAVADA was created by Injector Rick and his husband, Ant. It draws inspiration from Polari, a colourful form of language with Italian, Romani and other influences, historically associated with Britain’s gay community. In Polari, bona means good and vada means to see or look.
The name reflects what the clinic has always stood for: helping people look and feel good through honest advice, thoughtful treatment and care that welcomes everyone.
MEET INJECTOR RICK
Injector Rick is the founder and practitioner behind BONAVADA Aesthetics.
His route into aesthetics has not been the conventional one. His background includes hairdressing, fashion, modelling, NHS sexual health, private healthcare, personal training, group fitness and aesthetics.
That combination might look unusual on paper, but over the last 40 years it has shaped the way Injector Rick works. It has given him an understanding of people, confidence, anatomy, movement and the difference between enhancing somebody’s appearance and trying to change who they are.
Injector Rick is known for his straightforward advice, relaxed manner and natural-looking approach. He believes treatment should be based on the individual rather than a trend, and that saying “you do not need that” can be just as important as recommending something that may genuinely help.
Clients are encouraged to ask questions, discuss concerns openly and make informed decisions without pressure. Every gender, sexuality, body type and background is welcome, including clients seeking treatments that may feel personal, sensitive or difficult to discuss elsewhere.

Injector Rick is registered with the Independent Aesthetic Practitioner Register. The BONAVADA training academy is also an Approved CPD Provider with The CPD Group, Provider ID #789549.

THE NEXT CHAPTER
Injector Rick is due to begin a Nursing (Adult) BSc (Hons) degree at the University of Brighton in autumn 2026.
The three-year degree will build further knowledge and experience in anatomy, physiology, clinical assessment, patient care and evidence-based healthcare practice. It represents the next stage of Injector Rick’s continuing education and his long-term commitment to developing even stronger clinical knowledge alongside his established work in aesthetics and training.
THE BONAVADA APPROACH
BONAVADA is not about changing faces, following every new trend or persuading people to have treatments they do not need.
It is about listening properly, explaining options clearly and creating treatment plans that respect the individual. Sometimes that means recommending a treatment. Sometimes it means suggesting an alternative. Occasionally, it means advising someone to do nothing at all.
